A cute boho chic accent piece
Looking for creative storage container ideas? Look no further.
Here is one way to upcycle the things you have around your house for a creative storage solution. This post will show you how to make a DIY storage container out of a tin can.
It is a great DIY project for older kids on a rainy day as it only uses 3 things that you may already have around the house and they get to make something that further helps to organize and decorate their room.
What You’ll Need:
- Empty tin can
- This can be any tin can that you have lying around. Whether it’s from canned olives, peas, or something else entirely.
- Craft Cord
- You can find this at any craft store
- Hot glue gun
- This can also be found at your local arts and craft store but you may already have one in the back of a closet somewhere
Step 1: Clean out the Tin Can
Make sure you wash the can thoroughly with soap and water and let it dry.
I recommend something like olives or other canned vegetables.
Canned fish is difficult because the fish smell tends to linger
Once dry, remove the paper wrapping from around the can:
Step 2: Hot glue the rope around the can
Starting from the bottom, hot glue the braided chord to the can and wrap it upwards around the can, gluing it with hot glue.
Step 3: Enjoy your DIY boho chic storage container 🙂
That’s it. You can use this to store pens and pencils on your desk or as a pot for your small plant
